Before We Get Started

Essay Panel is a web app specifically designed by Jayden Tiemann to help you with getting your essay done fast without loosing focus. This process is simply done with a visual outline of your essay that you build with a topic and a definition for the type of essay you’re writing that you can look at when you wish to.
The original main use of this app was for the user to resize their browser to it's smallest scale for it to act as a panel, while in another window beside the browser would be you text document where you have your actual essay document, where you can look at both windows for reference.

Please note that this whole tutorial was done by Jayden Tiemann too.

Getting Started

On the Pannel Page, type in your topic of choice for your essay

Essay Type card with options displayed

After you have given your essay a topic, note you can always look at it and remember what you are writing about. For my topic, I gave the name "How I built Essay Panel." The next step is to give our essay a set type.

Below in the "Essay Type" card, click "(Select)" and choose one of the featured essay types you'd like to write for.

Essay Type card with essay definition

Once you have selected an essay type, you will see your essay type's definition. Use the definition to help guide you on what type of essay you are writing.

Special Note:

Each time you perform an edit on your essay in the Pannel Page, you might notice a change to your browser's URL. This is where your essay's data gets saved to and where you can always reload the page without losing any of your work:

Building Your Essay

After you have given your essay a type, you should have then noticed a group of cards appear. These cards represent your essay's outline and are automatically laid out based on your selected Essay Type.

With that said, lets start with giving this essay an introduction...

With our introduction in place, it is now time to add some paragraphs. Under the "Body" section, click "Add Paragraph" and when you do, you will see a new card appear. Since this is a tutorial, I have only used 1 paragraph, but you can add as many paragraphs as you need...

Now it's time to give our essay a conclusion, or in other words a summary. Scroll down to the "Conclu" card and type in the summary of your essay. When your done, and if your essay type includes it, add some cited work by clicking the "Add Reference" button. The "website reference" can be a URL, text, or whatever you'd like type in.
